YUH LIE - de vibes doneeeeeee

Isn't it amazing that our very own Machel Montano has won so many titles yet again. Yuh mean to tell me no body else was a contender? I think this thing rig. He win 2012 International Power, 2012 Groovy Monarch and 2012 Road March. De man clean we out. But this comes as no surprise as he is tremendously talented and the people love him.

But on to the matter of the famous lyrics of "The Vibes Cah Done". People IT DONE! I turned on my radio on my way to run errands and attend classes yesterday and it was very difficult to find a soca song. Where de soca gone so fast? Yuh think it migrate? ARE WE CONTINUING TO BE SEASONAL LOVERS? Just a bit of local media picong. Tell meh what you think nah.

  1. Maybe within the past few weeks, the amount of soca played was beyond the normal playing time of any genre of music. So, now that the "vibes done" we'll go back to a normal mix of music.....but this sudden change may seem as though we "done wit soca." For example, I know normally during the year, soca and dancehall get most of their play on weekends, whereas during the week we get our alternative, house, rock etc. Within the last month, everyday, every hour on the hour I was hearing soca.

    Just my 2 cents...

  2. I guess the station you listen to matters as well. I heard a fair share over the last couple days. There does seem to be a preference for the 'groovy' though. As for Machel's victories... we're such hypocrites...As children, we are all encouraged to have a professional work ethic and give of your best - On the local landscape, I am hard pressed to find an entertainer who even comes close. He's not my favourite person, but he works dam hard.He released 24 tracks this season - 24 !!! He's a perfectionist,a professional and an astute young entrepreneur. Instead of pulling down our best, let's big him up. The best man won ! Three times !Net year he could go after de chutney too... Lol
